G20/OECD Task Force on Long-Term Investment Meeting

While the Task Force initially focused on institutional investors and long-term financing, it now deals with issues beyond institutional investors (such as corporates, banks and Multilateral Banks) and beyond finance (such as taxation and development of financial markets, governance, environment, development, transport, and structural reforms) reflecting the complex and interrelated nature of long-term investment.

A key focus of this October 2019 meeting’s agenda was the OECD’s new sustainable infrastructure initiative to which the Task Force, comprising country representatives as well as from multilaterals, professional organizations and LTIIA, is to provide active contributions through its current and future work.

Furthermore, expected priorities for the next G20 Presidency were outlined.  On Friday morning, a dialogue with the asset management industry took place, to which LTIIA and several of its members participated to voice the views and concerns of the Infrastructure investment community, on issues ranging from ESG, to supply of projects to financing.
